Bealtaine Herb Camp

Invite your wild child to immerse in nature, it’s time for herb camp!

Join in over the season of Bealtaine (May, June and July), the season of summer on the Irish Wheel of the Year, to spend time in nature and remember the fun of camp and the joy of being in nature.  We will make potions and connect with the trees, gaze at the night sky and go on scavenger hunts.  We will build campfires and tell stories and sing songs under the moon.

Herb camp will connect us to the gifts of nature and bring our awareness and time outside: away from screens, doom-scrolling and capitalism. Instead of consuming, we will participate with the abundance of the herbs and with the spiraling of the cosmos, taking time to lay on the grass, follow the journey of a plant and dip our body in the waters.

Highlights of herb camp include:

  • Herbal scavenger hunts to engage with the land where you are

  • Moon and star gazing

  • Tree connection (remembering our childhood tree climbing forays!)

  • Water sports: foot soaks, ritual baths, botanical facials

  • Craft time: seasonal and ritual crafts as well as herbal potions

  • Mail from home (a special note delivered in the post from Ireland)

  • Story telling

We will meet live via zoom once per month although only for one hour so you can get back outside!  Additionally, you will receive a weekly email that will include camp activities like scavenger hunts, potion-making, land and plant/ tree connection, ritual crafts and stories to read or listen to around your own campfire.  And of course a highlight of camp is receiving mail from home so I will send a special note and treat from my Irish home to yours.

Camp activities begin the first week of May and the first email will be sent then.
