The Morrigan: A Samhain Retreat with the Phantom Queen
Saturday 24 October 2026
As we enter into the season of Samhain, you are invited to gather into retreat space (via Zoom) to honor the nourishment of the dark and to invoke The Morrigan as our guide.
Irish Goddess of death, battle and transformation, The Morrigan holds the intrinsic energies of the dark goddess and the phantom queen, the one who guides us through the unknown, who gives us courage to face the challenges of modernity and stand boldly in our truth and wholeness.
The Morrigan, she who transmutes into different forms, who is the wild, the elder, the sensual, the seer, the clearer.
With The Morrigan we will tread through the sensual threshold to acknowledge and receive the gifts of the dark, of shadow and of the transformative energies of death. We will move through the veil to the Otherworlds, ever thinning as the portal to Samhain opens, and journey with The Morrigan in one of her mythic aspects: raven, she-wolf, crone, maiden, eel. We will drink the dark nourishment of elderberry in a plant spirit initiation and receive the wordless wisdom, the imbas, offered.
To prepare for our retreat day, in your own retreat space, you will be invited to set an altar held with our retreat intention: The Nourishment of the Dark. Suggestions will be sent a few days before we gather, engaging the elements of air, fire, water, earth. We will weave our altars together through a central flame, a hearth candle, kindled at your own hearth as we meet live via the Zoom platform
The retreat day will include:
Cosmology: finding ourselves in relation to moon, sun and land in this season
Engaging with The Morrigan through the elements, ritual craft and herb craft
A myth constellation: an embodied and intuitive way to engage with an Irish myth of The Morrigan and offer wisdom to move into the season of Samhain
Plant Spirit Ceremony with elderberry (please bring approximately one ounce of elderberry herb)
Guided journey to meet a mythic aspect of The Morrigan and ways that they can inform your journey into Samhain
Movement and embodiment to connect to the land and our own sovereignty
Death reverence: honoring those who have died, honoring the cycles of death in the plants, honoring the ancestors known and through the mists of time
We will have a 30 minute lunch break (please have food prepared so you can stay in the energies of the day, if possible) and a few 3-5 minute breaks throughout the retreat. The intention will be to hold a tight container in order to go deeper and wider into the retreat space.
A supply list and additional details will be sent via email a few days before the retreat.
Due to the nature of this work and honoring the retreat aspect, this will not be offered as a recorded option. All participants will join live.
We will gather on Saturday 24 October via Zoom from Noon- 5PM ET/ 10AM- 3PM MT/ 9AM- 2 PM PT/ 17:00- 22:00 Ireland/ 18:00- 23:00 CET
